Christopher Laguerre
MHScOT, OT Reg. (Ont.)
Occupational Therapist
Christopher earned his Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa in 2024, completing the program in French to support bilingual health services in Canada. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology, which has strengthened his foundation in mental health practices, trauma-informed care, and psychotherapy.
Christopher brings significant experience working with clients across the lifespan, particularly in paediatrics and adolescent populations. His extensive background in mental health, case management, and social support spans both Canada and Brazil. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Christopher worked in social services with children’s aid societies, community centres, and youth emergency shelters. In these roles, he supported clients through care coordination, mental health interventions, suicide risk support, community reintegration, and engagement in self-care, productivity, and leisure activities.
As an Occupational Therapist, Christopher has primarily practised throughout the Ottawa and Gatineau regions, while also extending services across the Greater Ottawa area. He has supported both neurotypical and neurodivergent clients, with a primary focus on self-regulation, physical activity, mental wellness, sleep hygiene, occupational balance, and sensory management across home, school, work, and leisure environments. These diverse experiences have strengthened his collaboration, problem-solving, and time management abilities, while also enhancing his capacity to develop innovative, evidence-based interventions grounded in current peer-reviewed research.
Christopher is deeply committed to continuous professional growth, specialized care, and psychotherapy while supporting clients across Ontario and Québec. He is passionate about enhancing quality of life and overall well-being, while advocating for equity and addressing systemic barriers that may hinder individuals from fully participating in meaningful occupations. His goal is to empower clients to discover balance, purpose, and possibility in their daily lives. Christopher actively fosters inclusive, safe environments for clients and colleagues from all communities, regardless of age, gender, level of functioning, ethnicity, or religion.
On a personal note, Christopher enjoys travelling, music, exploring nature trails and hiking, and maintaining an active lifestyle through sports such as soccer, volleyball, and tennis.
